• PostHeaderIcon Can I Wash A Goose Down Comforter Or Should I Just Use Febreeze Or Something Like That?

it can be washed no problem…just don’t use bleach, it’s too harsh on those soft feathers. it’s the DRYING that’s the trick. You would be better off taking it to the self-serve laundromat…they have HUGE dryers there…….
the bigger the dryer , the better……..and, put a few tennis balls ( not sneakers, they’re too heavy )…in the dryer too….they will bounce around and ” fluff ” the blanket so it dries correctly.
if you dry it in a dryer that is too small, without the balls….it will dry all bunched up….with the feathers in globs in the corners….

I have 4 of them, one says to, “dry clean only” the others say they are washable. I have washed and dried in the dryer those with no problem. Mine are all down and no feathers though….

Doesn’t it have a “instruction” washing label on it? If not, you could call your “local” dry cleaners and ask them about it, or I bet you could find something on line about it…

Yes you can always use “Fabreze” and mask the smell of Bacteria breaking down on your bedding althogh this is a fairly filty method and after 5 years fairly disgusting… get yourself a microscope and investigate your bedding…. I think after this you wont be asking if you can wash it… it would be in the machine allready at a proper dry cleaners
