So, I use fabric softener on my clothes, and I use like dryer sheets, the things taht smell good that you throw into the dryer with them. And they really don’t smell like anything, how can I make them smell good?
fabic softener works great, just don’t let the clothes over dry. Over drying takes out the good smell. I’m bad to throw my clothes back in the dryer to get the wrinkles out & I’ve noticed that they don’t smell as fresh as they did before I threw them back in
like Lenor or Snuggle liquid softner. It smells REALLY good.
I buy this stuff at Sam’s called “Odo-Ban” and I put a 1/4 cup in every load of clothes along with the detergent. It makes the clothes smell clean and fresh.
I save the old bottles of cologne and perfume. I use my needle nose pliers to remove the sprayers and then I place these in the clothes closets, drawers and linen closets.
I sometimes will take perfumed candles and place them in the same places.
I found out when doing my Mom and Dad’s laundry, that no matter how many times they went thru the wash cycle, they just did not stop smelling like “old people”. So I started using white vinegar in each load. About a cup per load. White vinegar will get rid of almost any oder. Let’s face it, Clean smells good. We also have a winter home in Florida, so our clothes sit for several months without use. I just get my favorite smelling bar soap and put it unwrapped in each drawer. The nice thing about that is you can rough the bar up a little and it will continue smelling good for a long time. Also, hanging your clothes outside is a great idea if that is possible.
Yes, I’m all for lavender, too.
I’ve tried so many brands and scents, but my FAV is Downy April Fresh - combined with TIDE detergent with a touch of the same scent and Gain (original scent). The laundry smells great and it’s softer.
I use Tide pure essential with baking soda “White Lilac Scent and ultra Downy cashmere scent as a softener. I don’t use dryer sheets. Also hang your wash outside. You can’t beat the smell of fresh air and sunshine!
try bounce dryer sheets. I personally use purex laundry detergent (works just as good as the expensive stuff for half the price), and dry with a bounce dryer sheet. Smells good and stays fresh longer.

Spray your clothes with perfume and leave them in the bathroom while you take a shower and let the steam get to them
I think tide sells hanger accessories that you put on the hook…and it’s supposed to make clothes that might stay in your closet longer smell better.
Different brand of detergent and dryer sheet?
use hospital grade disinfectant that is mild on clothes such as lemon smelling disinfectant
