Usually when I throw it in the dryer i put dryer sheets in it and it makes it soft, but when I want to air dry them they get hard. How do I make air dryed clothes soft?
If your going to air dry (which i assume you mean hang dry) then all you have to do is through a dryer sheet in with the clothes when you put them in the washing machine. Then when you take them out they will be just as soft as if you had done it in the dryer
: ) Good luck!
Use fabric softener when you wash. When the rinse cycle starts pour some in and let it rock. Btw dryer sheets are for static that get built up in the dryer, not to make your clothes soft.
I read an article on this and they said the main cause of the stiffness and scratchy feeling was actually too much soap. Use less and rinse twice and in the second rinse add liquid fabric softener. Works for me.
They get hard because they are washed in hard water. You can try using liquid softener in the wash but that only helps so much.
If you want to air dry something so it won’t shrink, I would try drying it in the machine on the lowest setting possible.
Simple, just add half cup to one cup of White Vinegar to the rinse water or just wash with one cup of vinegar without soap added, you will not need any fabric softner or dryer sheets with this method as vinegar softens and cleans and will also reduce lint and static buildup and is gentle to your washload, it also will remove residues builtup from detergents in your wash and remove stains, vinegar is an all purpose cleaner/degreaser and has been touted as being the best disinfectant in the world today Good Luck !
well add the liquid downy instead of the sheets to see if it works.

I use fabric softner in the was. My air-dried clothes come out lovely and soft. Try Lenor concentrate products, you only have to use a little.
