How Do I Stop My Clothes From Getting Splotches On Them After Washing?
The splotches are always lighter than the clothes. Is it the detergent? Or my washer?

Are you using laundry detergent powder - with bleach?
We stopped buying powder with bleach because they were doing the same to my colored clothes. Bleach particles would not dissolve immediently. Would sit on the fabric and bleach it.
We no longer have the problem.
Rather than switching detergents, begin filling the washer with warm water, then add 1/2 cup of baking soda, then your detergent. After the water is about 1/2 up the washer, add your clothing.
You should notice the splotches diminish with that very load.
I had that problem, and learned to add my detergent as the water was filling. The pressure of the water hitting the machine almost churns the detergent when you add it. Adding the clothing should always be your last step.
Good luck!
Try waiting until your machine fills up and dissolves all of the soap first before putting your clothes in.
1. use liquid soap. 2. fabric softner causes spotting when applied to clothes. only add it in the spindle.
put your washer onto extra rinse thtat should get rid of the splotches the powder probably hasn’t dissolved properly i notice this more on my black wash days so i just use the extra rinse setting my problem is solved.
I’m sure it has to be clumps of detergent. You might want to try some liquid detergent to see if this helps
