How Do You Get A Toddler To Let You Apply An Ice Pack To A Goose-egg On Her Head?
My two year old fell off the bed this morning and has a goose-egg about the size of a marble or a little bigger on the side of her head. There is a purple slit on top of it where the skin broke. Everybody told me to put a cold pack on it for about 20 minutes, but she will not let me. Is it ok to just leave it alone without the ice pack? thanks
Okay what I suggest is give a candy or a toy and just do it.I would do the ice if i was you.Last week my son needed 3 stitches. He hit cheek on the coffee table.I didn’t have time to put ice on it it took a long time for the swelling to go down. Also the lady who said go to the dr or you’ll get reported.Give me a break,if she didn’t throw up or seems out of it she’s okay.Just make sure she stays awake for a while and monitor her.Dont worry accidents happen.Good luck hope your child feels better.
It really depends on how much it hurts her. If she is ok, then I would leave it, maybe put a band-aid on it where the cut is.
If it hurts her a lot, try to get her to calm down and sit with you. Put the ice pack on it and sit with her. If you are really concerned with it, take her to the doctor or ER just to take a look at it. She should be fine by the sounds of it, but if you are concerned, call her pediatrician.
Hope this helps! Please answer mine?http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;…
If she is showing signs of being lethargic, take him/her to the doctor, otherwise, kids will be kids and they will all bump their heads at one point! Ice will only help with the swelling, but will be ineffective for bruising or bleeding. The advice of the first 2 posted comments were right on…. good luck!
You can wrap he tightly in a blanket, turn cartoons on and sit with her. She’ll cry and fuss but she’ll stop eventually.
If she won’t cooperate then don’t bother. It will go away on its own regardless of whether you put ice on it or not.
You should probably take her to the doctor. head injuries aren’t something to mess with. Did you know that if someone reports you, you can get in trouble for neglect?
