Had a leaky washing machine and a basket of clothes next to it, the basket absorbed the water and it went into the clothes, spotting them with mould. Have tried a number of things but cant remove it.
* Chlorine Bleach best for destroying mold and their spores.
- Soak or wash WHITE garmwnts with bleach (1/2 to one cup of 4% bleach) and a neutral detergent ( e.g Dawn dishwashing liquid) in warm water.
- Rinse twice; Add to first rinse a table spoon of Oxygen bleach to neutralize residual Chlorine ( stops garment yellowing).
* Coloured Garments - Soak in an Oxygen bleach (colour safe) Nappie soaker over night. Then wash as normal in warm water.
Good Luck!!
I would use a three cups of detergent, a bottle of Original Pine Sol..a bottle of Lemon Scent Pine Sol, a splash of ammonia and a splash of regualr Pine Cleaner.
Just throw the clothes away. honestly there is no way to get mold out of clothes because cloth is porous. the stains will more than likely be there forever. Be careful if you decide to wear the clothes, mold can still irritate your skin and cause allergic reactions even if it is “dead”.
