I know it’s ok with towels not to out, but will it lessen wrinkles in clothes if you do?

Yes, there will be fewer wrinkles if you shake them out first. I usually stretch jeans out and smooth them with my hands, then loosely fold them over before I put them in the dryer. They seem to come out better that way.

Giving them a shake cuts down on wrinkles and cuts down on the drying time

      I think it does.
I shake them out just so they will fluff around more and dry more evenly and hopefully faster.
I shake out my towels, too, that way they are “loose” and can fluff around and dry easier.

I guess that could help but I normally don’t and my stuff comes out fine.
