Well, this is a problem we all deal with:
Cotton clothes shrinking down almost three sizes in the wash
I want to know if any awesome person out there knows a way to prevent this?
Is there a certain way to wash them (using a machine please, no one has time to do it by hand), or a certain detergent, etc?

i hate it that when i get a new shirt that is black and ive worn it.
then i put it in the washer with warm water and no clorox. then i put them in the dryer until they are a bit moist and let them dry.
but my clothes still shrink/fade. does anyone have instructions/procedures/tips?

during the school year, the strict uniform policy limits me to not even a fourth of my wardrobe. the rest of the clothes go untouched until a school break, and gradually take on a musty smell. right now im preparing to rewash loads of clean clothes that have a aquired this musty smell. is there a practical way to store my clothes so they wont smell funny? is there a spray similar to febreze but wont make my clothes wet?

Hi i will be washing my clothes ONCE on a two week study trip.
The clothes I want to bring are new, mostly 100% cotton, and most importantly, hanging them to dry after wash is not an option. (i will not be doing the washing personally and they will be transferred directly to the dryer after machine wash)
I still have roughly 2 weeks to figure out a way to PREVENT MY CLOTHES FROM SHRINKING.

Is there a way to prevent cotton clothes from shrinking? Half of my clothes don’t fit anymore, because they shrink in the dryer. Is there a way to prevent this?

Please help me understand what I am doing wrong… My daughter rarely wears something more than a few times before the item is too small. I know she’s growing quickly, but I think the clothes are shrinking too. To prevent shrinking, I wash her clothes in cold water only and I dry them on gentle. Short of line-drying, which I don’t think is feasible right now, what else can I do to preserve her clothes? Thank you!

My mom keeps yelling at me for clothes not fitting anymore. I can’t help it! I wash my clothes in cold water, and on a low heat setting for the dryer. I also buy my clothes around 2 sizes bigger and they still shrink wayyyy too small. How can I keep my clothes from shrinking?

I have read that it is best to wash clothes with cold water, which I get. But what is the best way to dry my clothes to prevent shrinking? I prefer not to use an outside clothesline, but I have been told that trying to air-dry clothes inside could make them smell bad or become moldy. How should I properly dry my clothes?
