What Is The Best Water Level For A Load Of Clothes?
I always thought that if it is a medium load then why not use large for the water level, cause this will give more room for the clothes to agitate, but some people think you should use the right level, because the clothes should be closer together. The detergent would also be more concentrated. Also, I also like to use warm to hot water if is not going to hurt my clothes, because I can’t see cold getting anything clean. This is a top loader of course. If I had a front loader I don’t think any of this would matter much.
I do almost the same as you, If it is a small load, then I do a small wash cycle. And I do believe that a medium load would benefit from doing it in large water level, I feel that the clothes will have more room to move around and get a better cleaning. Even when I do a large load, I don’t fill the clothes that much because of this. I do have to say that this summer I have been doing wash in cold water, and have had no problems , and they do get clean. But every so often I do the whites with hot and bleach to give them that extra boost. I too have a top loader which I love. So keep doing as your doing, I really don’t think it is written in stone Hot or cold or med Large. It is your choice.
I use high all the time. I live in an apartment and water is included. The more the clothes move around and the faster they are “swished” the cleaner they get. If need be, use a little more detergent. However, if you use too much, it’s harder to get the soap out in the rinse cycle.
I always use large water level as it does give the agitator to swish the clothes around more and it gets them cleaner! I use warm water to wash some of my dark and light colored clothes with a cold rinse. I use hot water for my towels and sheets. I would use a large tub load if I were you! Good Luck….now if you were washing just a few articles then you could adjust your water level in your washer! Good Luck to you and you sound like you are doing alright!!!
TRUE BUT DEPENDING ON THE TYPE & QUANITY THE LEVEL NEEDS ADJUSTING
I find that the more room the clothes have to move around the cleaner my clothes are.
I only use hot water for sheets & towels. I use cold water for dark colors & reds…….and warm water for everything else.
Follow the instruction on the inside of the washer lid.
